Why Pharmacist-Developed, Family-Owned Skin Care Still Matters
A practical moisturizer, a pharmacist’s approach and three generations of family involvement.
Udderly Smooth began in 1978 with our father, Bill Kennedy, a registered pharmacist with a practical idea for caring for rough, dry-feeling skin.
He developed a rich moisturizer formulated to absorb quickly and help leave skin feeling soft and smooth without a heavy, greasy feel. What began as a practical formula soon found its way from farms into homes, workshops, sewing rooms, travel bags and everyday family routines.
A pharmacist’s practical approach
Our pharmacist-developed heritage shaped the thoughtful, practical approach that remains part of Udderly Smooth today.
Our moisturizers are made for straightforward everyday skin care, with formulas for normal, dry and very dry skin.

What family-owned means to us
Today, three generations of the Kennedy family continue manufacturing Udderly Smooth in Salem, Ohio.
Being family-owned means we know the formulas, the manufacturing process and the people responsible for making our products. Our family name may not appear on the front of the package, but our standards and history are built into what goes inside it.
It also means doing whatever the family business requires—from production schedules and packaging decisions to retailer relationships and long-term responsibility for the brand.
Serious moisture. Not-so-serious spots.
The familiar cow spots and the name Udderly Smooth have always been playful. Our commitment to dependable everyday moisture is serious.
That combination—a pharmacist’s practical beginning, generations of family involvement and a willingness to laugh at ourselves—is why Udderly Smooth has remained part of family skin-care routines for decades.
